Sponsorships Committee

This position requires the committee chair to maintain relationships with Atlanta businesses and obtain sponsorships. Weekly committee meetings should be held to represent HERO in a professional manner. This committee requires good time management, as it is necessary to establish sponsors months in advance. The chair and committee members are also accountable for developing the 2012 discount cards, and securing collection locations for donations made at all 2012 GT HEROs events

Athletic Committee

This committee should also develop new and interesting ways to reach out the Athletic Association in order to obtain fundraising items, donations, and volunteers for future events.

HERO Outreach Committee

This committee is mainly responsible for raising awareness about the HIV/AIDS disease at all events and maintaining a table in the Student Center for GT HEROs to hand out flyers and speak about the organization and disease. The chair member or representative from the committee will act as a liaison among GT HEROs, UGA HEROs, and H.E.R.O. for Children to seek opportunities and events for our organization to be a part of to increase our network and maintain a healthy relationship with our partner chapter. In addition, the committee must seek ways to reach out to other campus organizations and serve as the main contact between such communications.

Fundraising Committee

The fundraising chair is responsible for all fundraising efforts made by GT HEROs. The committee is expected to devise a fundraising plan for each semester in a timely fashion. Committee meetings are expected to be held every week in which specific goals should be made as well as plans to reach all goals. The chair member or representative from the committee must play a strong role in identifying, cultivating, and approaching major donors.

Marketing Committee

The marketing committee is liable for creating marketing/PR campaigns as well as all promotions, media, and advertising to further the objectives of GT HEROs. Weekly committee meetings should be held to look for new, interesting ways to boost the positive image of this organization while having fun at the same time. The committee members are required to develop creative content to the Board such as designing flyers, logos, t-shirts, and banners for all events. The committee is expected to distribute flyers, chalk, and promote GT HEROs through radio stations, newspapers, etc. By holding PR campaigns, the committee chair is responsible for seeking ways to reach out to the students, faculty, and other organizations on campus.

Greek Affairs Committee

This committee is responsible for effectively communicating directly with the Greek Organizations on and off campus in order to gather support for the HERO cause. Members will act as liaisons and speakers. The liaisons are responsible for recruiting members from different chapters to become HERO philanthropists, to attend HERO events, and for collecting the money members pledge to raise for HERO. Additionally, the members will help with the selling of discount cards to the Greek Community.

Special Events Committee

By associating with the other committees, this committee is responsible for planning and organizing our annual events as well as new special events for GT HEROs throughout the year. The committee should convene at least once a week to plan out special events on and off campus such as Paint the Town Red and Fall Festival, which is our grand event on campus that the H.E.R.O. children come to campus and enjoy all of the fun festivities the GT HEROs members put on for them. Because this is our main event with the children, it is member’s duty to make it a memorable as possible. The committee will secure all donations, work alongside the Athletic Association, and create a structure around this event that involves GT students and H.E.R.O. children. Special Events Committee will also be responsible for promoting the organization during all summer and freshmen outreach programs such as the President’s Scholars Program and FASET. This means the members must be available during the summer.
